Along with supporting our community, we love hearing stories from our winners. Close friends April and Jenny won first and third place respectively in the Tommy Bahama Beach Set Giveaway!
The pair both work in the medical field, and after working through the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic, they said this win could not have come at a better time. The friends and their families have vacationed together for years, and they just got back from a much-needed vacation to Turks and Caicos! Check out their story below:
A Much Deserved Win
April Dunmyre, an OBGYN physician and mother of two, won the first place prize in the Tommy Bahama Beach Set Giveaway. Her close friend, Jenny Stone, a nurse practitioner, and mother of four won the third place prize. The two were ecstatic they both won and said they really needed the win after the tough year fighting the pandemic. The pair said it was so rewarding to win the giveaway prizes together.
“As an OBGYN physician, I never got a break,” said April. “We worked hard during the pandemic, delivering babies, operating and working in the offices.”
Jenny agreed, “I am the lead nurse practitioner in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility. The devastation of Covid is indescribable. I hate to sound like a terrible downer, because I feel that we’re on the upswing. But I’ll just say that there are a lot of empty beds in my building now where some absolutely fabulous, quality people used to lay their heads. It was really awesome to win something after the year we had.”
Friends who Vacation Together, Win Together!
The friends have gone on vacation with their families together for the last three years. They’ve gone to Mexico, Disney World, and now Turks and Caicos together.
“April and I have gone on a lot of trips together with our husbands and kids. She’s definitely my best and most fun travel partner,” Jenny said.
April said her favorite part of the trip was a boat excursion they took around the islands. She said, “the water was so gorgeous and perfect and our kids had a blast!”
Swimwear that Makes You Feel Confident
After being fans of HAPARI for a while, the pair went on their trip decked head-to-toe in HAPARI. When they got back, they got the news that they were both winners in the Tommy Bahama Beach Set contest.
“We had to text each other in the mornings to make sure we didn’t wear the same suits and prints!” said April. “Jenny told me to check out HAPARI and I’ve been addicted ever since. Now my mom loves HAPARI too. I love that it compliments any body type and makes you feel comfortable. It’s not too revealing and made of excellent material.”
Jenny agreed and said the quality of the prints and fits are what she loves most about HAPARI swimsuits.
“I like the quality, the fit. You can wash the suits over and over again and they don’t fade. You can go down waterslides and the fabric doesn’t pill.” April agreed saying, “The suits I’ve had for two years now are still In excellent condition. Every time I wear them I get compliments.”
