Top Natural Beauty Products

Essential_oil_Cajeput_Oil_Rose_Essential_Oil_Eucalyptus_OilI went to my first stand-up comedy show last night. It was pretty much what I’d imagined it would be, even the view from the front row we were able to score. The last comedian of the night was absolutely killing it and covered the standard topics of dating, travel, etc. and of course brought up the standard routine conversation, “Women, why do you go through so much effort to look good? It has to be for each other, putting on makeup and those huge fake eyelashes. We don’t even know you have eyelashes, we just know you look pretty when you blink.” Well, it went something along those lines, but it was totally true. The truth is that sure, men notice a women they think is attractive, but they will do that whether or not you have on your 4 inch heels, fake eyelashes or hair extensions. Either way, we still feel the need to slap on some concealer and blush and hit the streets looking like a million bucks or as close as we can with what we’ve been genetically given. But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s it’s just as much for me to be attracted to me as it is others. I feel more confident when I feel I am putting my best foot forward. I make more eye contact, smile more and sometimes think I’m even more charismatic than my usual fabulous self. So What do you do to feel your best self? Do you think you do it more for you or for someone else? Well, whatever the answer is it’s important to make sure you’re happy and healthy at the end of the day.

I know I’ve talked a lot about looking good to feel good, but what about feeling good to look good? Yep, it works that way too. I know that when I’m making a conscious effort to choose natural beauty products that are “healthy” I feel like I’m going the extra mile. The best part is that this trend has caught on to the point where it is becoming more reasonable and inexpensive to do the right thing for your skin and the environment!

5 of the Top Natural Beauty Products

elle-02-july-beauty-green-stars-face-time-0712-xln-xlnNvey Eco Mattifying Compact Powder, $26; ulta.com

I LOVE this product because companies are finally making mattifying products without talc! I have a horrible talc allergy, which I didn’t know until I tried one of those mineral powder makeups that became so trendy years ago. This item is a compact powder that prevents oil slicks without hiding the skin’s natural glow. This product contains natural elements and creates a beautiful matte finish without feeling like you’re wearing a mask!

elle-04-july-beauty-green-stars-face-time-0712-xln-xlnJosie Maran Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain, $19; sephora.com

Get ready to glow! This Lip and Cheek Stain is brilliant! It adds just enough rosy glow and is used by makeup artists industry wide. I love the concept of combining products in my makeup arsenal. I hate traveling with a makeup bag bursting at the seams because I’ve overloaded it with mostly things I probably won’t use, but this certainly keeps my stash to a minimum and still keeps all the bases covered.

elle-06-july-beauty-green-stars-clock-stoppers-0712-xln-xlnNeutrogena Naturals Face & Body Bar, $4.59; walgreens.com

Let’s start with the basics, because no matter what you put on your face, if your skin isn’t healthy then you’re missing the whole point. You’ve probably heard the term “sulfate-free” in beauty products. Sulfates in products are additives that create the foamy effect and also cut grease, but it actually strips your body of natural oils that are beneficial to your skins, hair and overall body chemistry. This body bar helps you maintain your natural body chemistry.

elle-08-july-beauty-green-stars-clock-stoppers-0712-xln-xlnTata Harper Resurfacing Mask, $55; net-a-porter.com

Treat yourself with this face mask from Tata Harper. This resurfacing mask will last quite a while and certainly helps put the clock on hold for a while when it comes to signs of skin aging. This is also one of the top rated companies for all-natural, eco-friendly products. Give it a try and see what you think!

elle-09-july-beauty-green-stars-beach-patrol-0712-xln-xlnW3LL People Luminous Mineral Bronzer, $23; beauty.com

Lastly, what type of beach babe would I be if I didn’t include a mineral powder that soothes the skin and gives you an all natural glow you can take from the beach to the office?! This product is filled with good stuff like aloe, green tea and chamomile. It adds natural radiance to the skin without causing the nasty chemical clogs like it’s lesser quality counterparts.
