In the New Year, Netflix is releasing a plethora of new television shows, movies, and documentaries to its streaming services. With so many options to choose from, we’ve curated a list of the best new shows to watch in 2016. Grab a blanket and some popcorn and snuggle in for a long winter’s binge-watching session for these “New on Netflix” shows.

  • Making of a Murderer (2015)

Remember the frenzy the real-life murder mystery podcast ‘Serial’ created? Making of a Murderer is taking that buzz to a whole new level. This documentary follows the case of Steven Avery, a man who served 18 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, and the missing disappearance of young photojournalist Teresa Halbach. It’s a typical whodunit story with a serious examination of the American legal system. (Image via Salon)

  • Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Jane Austen would be proud; Pride and Prejudice is officially coming home to Netflix in January.  This version, starring Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfayden, while not as true to the novel as the Colin Firth version, brings a comedic side to the romantic novel. For the youngsters who have not yet experienced the height of romance that is Pride and Prejudice, now is the time to give it a watch. (Image via Focus Features)
