January’s the perfect time of year to recommit to getting in shape and living healthier, but most of us don’t have the same motivation as lifeguards do! When you’re at the pool this summer, take some time to thank the brave men and women who bravely put on a swimsuit every day to keep us safe.

Speaking of people who look good in a swimsuit, congratulations to Miss Utah Danica Olsen on winning the preliminary Lifestyle & Fitness (Swimsuit) award in the first night of 2012’s Miss America pageant! We wish her the best of luck in the final competition on Saturday.

While we haven’t tried this for ourselves, we do find it the idea that Google loves swimwear as much as we do pretty amusing. Sorry to all the budding physicists out there.

We at Hapari are always on the lookout for new swimwear-related news and trends in social media and beyond. We stay on top of the latest fashions so that when summer rolls around you can be ready in a swimsuit that fits you!

Looking for Bikinis? Hapari Has You “Covered”

January 4th, 2012

As part of our mission to help women everywhere find a stylish swimsuit they feel good about wearing, Hapari.com offers a line of colorful bikini tops and bottoms. Just like we did with our tankinis and one piece swimsuits, when we were designing these fun suits, we set out to solve many of the problems that are associated with traditional bikinis. Take a look at some of the “secrets” that make our bikinis different.

Full Coverage and Full of Style
Our full coverage bikini cups are unlike anything else you’ve ever tried on! Traditional bikinis just cannot match the coverage, fit, and support that these bikini tops give. Hapari’s full coverage bikini swimwear is comfortable enough for you to wear at the beach all day without having to worry about anything.
Just because they are full coverage, however, does not mean our bikinis are stodgy. Not at all! These beautiful tops are made with fashion and elegance in mind. Both our Ruffle and Twist bikinis offer a modern bikini look.

No Adjusting
One of the best things about Hapari bikini tops is the fact that you don’t have to adjust or re-tuck anything. Put one on, and that’s it! You can spend the entire day lying by the pool or playing in the water without having to worry about wondering what your bikini is doing because it’s in place and not going anywhere.
Many of our customers report back to us that they feel secure and confident in a Hapari bikini. That’s what we want for everyone who wears one of our swimsuits.

Mix and Match
Any of our bikini tops can be paired with any of our bikini bottoms. We offer a variety of fun style, from skirts to shorts, and our one-of-a-kind Tummy Tuk bottoms will provide extra coverage for your middle. You can make a bikini as unique as you are.
Be sure to check out all of our great bikinis and get yours before the heat hits to be ready for the pool this year!

Bloggers Review of Hapari Swimwear

October 28th, 2011

Plumeria Sport Tankini SwimwearHapari loves bloggers! And bloggers, it seems, love Hapari. All across the internet people are talking about our trendy tankinis, bikinis, and other beach wear products. Here’s a look at what some blogs are saying:

Brandy of Newly Crunchy Mama of 3 reviewed our Black Twist Tankini and Black Ruffle Swimwear Skirt. She found that the top provides just the right amount of support and coverage, and that it stays in place even when wet. She called the suit the “little black dress” of swimwear. Thanks, Brandy!

Mike of JustFindIt4U says that his wife and daughter both love our swimwear. They each received one of our Shores tops and one of our stylish bottoms. They found that the Shores are extremely comfortable and versatile, and the bottoms don’t ride up or slip down, even when put to the boogie boarding test. Thanks, Mike, Alina, and Alex!

Rose of Today’s Woman was wowed by our Mango Mudd S.O.S. Tankini. She liked how the built-in underwire of this suit gave her perfect support and shape. When combined with our Hot Short Brown Bottoms, this suit provides modest and fashionable coverage. She also remarked on how well-made our Hapari suits are. Thanks, Rose!

Susan of The Fabulous Shopping Mom loved the fun colors and design of our Retro V-Neck Tankini. She noticed that this tankini is longer than many other swimwear options out there, which means that you spend less time worrying and pulling the top down. She also loved the Tummy Tuk Turquoise Bottom because it works to flatten tummies and give a flattering shape. Thanks, Susan!

Cindy of For One Another loves our style tabs that let you wear our tankinis in three different ways (so do we). She also remarked on the excellency of our customer service department, which answered a question about the sizing of her daughter’s swimsuit. Thanks, Cindy!

Cami of Baby Half Off was afraid that our Tummy Tuk Brown Bottom would just, in her words, “push the pooch north,” as so many similar products do. Happily, she found that our bottoms really do the trick at “Tuk”-ing what you don’t want without creating a bunch up top. Thanks, Cami!

Thanks to all the wonderful bloggers who take the time to review our products. We really care about making sure that every woman feels comfortable and beautiful in her swimwear, which is why we love hearing stories about real women who’ve tried and loved our products!

We are always looking for inspiration any where we can get it! Swimsuits never seem to stop changing in style, cut and prints. But their purpose remains the same: get wet, look great, feel beautiful. We love to stay up on the latest trends, and we love to hear about other designers, like Melissa Odabash, who gave an interview about her swimsuit designs.

How to Select a Swimsuit for Your Body Type

October 18th, 2011

Most women don’t feel confident when they put on a swimsuit and look in the mirror, but it doesn’t have to be that way. With these tips and the ultra fashionable women’s swimwear from Hapari, you can look runway ready in no time.

For those who are big chested

Swimsuits for large chested women

When you are looking for a swimsuit that not only looks good but can actually be used for swimming Hapari is the right destination. Many of us have had the experience looking for playful swimwear styles but find difficulty spotting the best options for those of us on the big-busted side (blush).

You don’t have to feel top heavy or try to hide what you’ve been blessed with. If you’ve got a little more up top, go for a tankini rather than a bikini or one piece – with a tankini, you can mix and match your size to make sure you have all the support you need.

Choose a simple pattern with plenty of structure (such as a built in bra or adjustable straps). Avoid horizontal stripes between your waist, as this will only make you look larger than you are. To get a flattering division between your hips and chest, look for suits that have slight tailoring under the breasts or at the waist.

For those who are pear shaped

You’re likely not the first to have heard that when you are a bit more full below than on top it can be difficult trying to find a suitable suit! The key here isn’t just finding the right swimwear but also knowing how to wear it. Here are a few quick tips:

If you have a little bit more on your hips, find boy short bottoms that will help elongate your lower body. Be careful not to wear skirts with ruffles, as this will only make you wider at the hips. Draw the eye to your bust or your waist by choosing a deep neckline. This is often one of the more overlooked details. It can be easy to fall into the flatter of skirts and ruffles, but sometimes what looks great on the rack doesn’t come out the way expected when on.

Selecting a design that accentuates your waist with a little embellishment will go a long way towards making your hips look and feel slimmer. We have quite a few designs that fit exactly this purpose!

For those who have a small bust

Swimwear for the small busted body type

If you don’t have a whole lot up top no need to worry! We’ve got you covered. Look for halter tops that bring things together. With a petite frame you can go a little more daring with the design, choosing a pattern that is fun and flirty.

If you like, try a tankini or bikini top that allows for inserts – this will help you look like you have more than you really do. If you want to draw attention away from your chest, find a ruffled swim skirt that will bring the eye lower.

The size of your chest really isn’t an issue when it comes to looking great a in a swimsuit. After all, we know beauty certainly comes in all sizes and shapes. But knowing which swimwear may be most flattering and just how to accentuate those areas are key for the look.

Take a look at our swimwear skirts and covers shorts to get a feel for what you may like best.

For those who are plus sized

Swimwear for plus size women

For many plus size women the thought of even going out in a swimsuit doesn’t seem right. But I assure you, it will work out! Plus size fits in swimwear often maintain the same look, feel and flattery of any other.

Wide straps are your friend – and so is added support. Look for a suit that provides adequate coverage for your back, and emphasize your cleavage rather than your legs.

A simple pattern in darker colors will help you look slimmer, but don’t shy away from interesting detail.

Shopping for swimsuits is hard work, but with these tips in mind, you can find a suit that is not only fashionable, but flattering as well.

Vacationing Without The Kids… Living The Dream

September 1st, 2011

There are times when I dream about taking off my “mommy hat” and just relaxing for a while. The times I have been away while the kids stayed with grandma were good. I remember just sitting on the couch in the hotel thinking “I don’t have to move unless the building is on fire. Nice!” So I do appreciate a break, but while a vacation without the kids sounds like a great thing, it is still not something that I’m entirely comfortable with.

True, you don’t want to be refereeing kid-fights while sitting on a white sand beach drinking from a coconut shell, but being without the kids can be stressful too. Here are some details to be sure to remember and a few ways to help with mom-guilt to make things as pleasant as possible for everyone:

Don’t Forget the Details

• Leave a schedule/routine for your caregiver. Young children like to have their routine stay the same especially when they are dealing with other stresses (like mom being gone).
• With older kids, leave a list of house rules so the caregiver can confidently respond to requests (“But Mom always lets us have chocolate cake at midnight at our sleepovers on a school night.”)

Considering including rules for: visits from friends, outdoor boundaries, homework, bedtimes, include any specific fears or comforts, and anything else you think might come up. And obviously, leave your contact numbers and any instructions for allergies or medications.

• Schedule relief for your caregiver if you can, especially during longer trips. For older kids, scheduling your trip during the school year can provide a break for your caregiver during the day.
• Be sure to leave doctor’s contact numbers, numbers for some friends or other local contacts in case the caregiver needs any help, and the number for pizza delivery.
• If the kids are in school, let the school know that you’ll be gone and that your caregiver has permission to pick up your children in case of an emergency (most schools won’t release to anyone not on the list.) This also helps teachers understand that the kids may be out of sorts.

Helping with Mom-Guilt

Realize that a happy mom makes for happy kids. You need to take time for yourself and your relationship to build a strong family. Still, it is common for moms to feel guilty about leaving the kids while on vacation. Here are a few things that might help:

• For younger children, make a little book to help explain what’s going on. Include a drawing or clipart of a mom and dad getting onto a plane/boat, one sitting on a beach or whatever else you’ll be doing on your trip, one with a child having fun with the caregiver, and be sure to include a picture of mom and dad returning home.
• Post a calendar with the date of your return and let the kids mark off the days until your return to reassure them that you’ll be coming back. For younger children, use pictures instead of words.
• For longer trips, send a postcard right away so the kids can get it while you are gone and know that you are thinking about them.
• Before you go, you can prepare daily treat bags with a few inexpensive treats, candy, or toys so your caregiver can give the kids a daily treat from mom. That way they know that mom is thinking about them.

I hope these tips help encourage you to pick a beautiful tropical island, get an awesome new swimsuit, and go enjoy yourself. Take a break, and use it as a chance to reconnect with yourself and/or your husband. You deserve it!

This guest post was provided from our good friend Kelly Long, a writer and co-founder of the blog Smart and Trendy Moms which focuses on finding ideas and products to make a mom’s life easier and more enjoyable. The “Stuck With You Date” by The Dating Divas

August 30th, 2011

My name is Wendy, I am a part of The Dating Divas. I am super excited to be able to guest post here at Hapari! I have to admit… I am in LOVE with their swimsuits! Everything about them! From the prints to the styles… definitely up my alley!!

When deciding what date I could leave with you today, it was perfect to share the one that you could all go on… wearing your sexy Hapari swimwear!! {wink wink}

Introducing… Stuck With You Date

My incredibly amazing husband planned this date for us to go on. I recently had a baby and while that is super exciting in itself, it was time to get out! I live in Utah and we have incredible mountains surrounding the valley where I live. It is not hard to find a river at all. So we grabbed some tubes and headed up the canyon.

Does the water look cold? Buuuurrrrrrr, it was!!! But it was such a nice day! After the entertaining ride down, we ran across this cute little root beer “float” stand. So we made it a day of floats.

The best part of going on a date like this is the peaceful quietness of nature and the one-on-one time you get to have with your best friend. You’d be crazy to bring your cell phone… so it was perfect to chat and catch up! We definitely had a great time.

Over at The Dating Divas, our goal and mission is to strengthen marriages one date at a time. We like to keep the spark alive! Going out on fun and inexpensive dates again and doing quick and easy things to express our love, are just a few things we focus on.

This week we are hosting a giveaway sponsored by Hapari, and we hope you will come on over to enter and check out what we have to offer!!

Update: Hapari’s Next Swimwear Model Competition

August 19th, 2011

Hapari Swimwear Model Competition

We have been so excited to see how well the competition to find our next model has kicked off. To date we count a total of 73 entries into the contest and are excited to see new entries coming in daily from women across the U.S. So far we see 26 states represented with Utah, Arizona, Florida, Kansas and Georgia leading with the most contestants.

To keep all those participating in the contest informed on just how the final winner will be selected we wanted to outline the process that will occur in the final weeks of the contest:

  1. A total of 3 finalists will be selected. Hapari owners will select 2 finalists and the third will be picked by our Facebook fans (the contestant who received the most attention via comments and likes).
  2. Hapari will then ask the 3 finalists to send in any additional photos they have to help us get the best idea of who they are as a model.
  3. Owners and employees of Hapari will then all cast a final vote to determine the winner!
  4. Runners up will be awarded with $300 gift certificates and a huge thanks for participating!
  5. It has been so fun to watch the diverse group of women the contest has attracted and we are so happy with the positive comments and support all those participating have been providing. Every day we are eagerly waiting for more entries and excited every time one arrives. Since the contest opened on July 26th it has been great to see supportive comments from one contestant to another like:

Rachel Murphy (commenting on Crystal Yetter-Fouts photo): Wow! Crystal you look great. Good luck!

Heather Harris Torriente (commenting on Catey Bettinson Ball’s entry photo): Wow! 8 kids?! Way to go!

Cydney Boler (commenting on Mindy Johnson Edwards photo): Mindy you are stunning!!

While this contest is not exclusive to Mom’s—we have been very proud to see those mothers who have taken the courage to enter into the contest. To our knowledge we have mother’s ranging from 1 to 8 children and are excited to have such a diverse group of women.

Hapari has always remained open to the thoughts and voice of our customers. One of our favorite discussions on Facebook since we opened the contest for entries was where we posed the question, “If you were to decide who the next Hapari model is, what would you focus on? Heard some mention online that she should be “natural”…” In return we received some great feedback and thoughts from our followers. During the discussion one of our more hesitant contestants built up the courage to send her lovely entry photo.

Due to the enormous amount of feedback we received from followers and regular entries coming in we soon updated the process by which each entry goes onto Facebook. Once each entry is received it is posted within 24 (business) hours. We do our best to tag each photo with their correct Facebook name so they can be notified your picture is live as well!

To get more details on how to enter to the contest visit our blog post announcing it here. And to see those who have already entered the contest visit our Facebook album here.
